TIPS & FAVORITES

1.
USE LAZY SUZANS
I use lazy susans in kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, under the sink storage for both bathrooms and kitchens, even inside the refrigerator!

2.
USE GLASS FOOD CONTAINERS
Swap out your plastic food containers for a few glass ones with air tight, snap-able lids! You don’t need more than about 6 containers. Store them with the LID ON! Also, glass can go straight into the microwave, dishwasher, oven, fridge, or lunch bag.

3.
STOP BUYING ORGANIZING PRODUCTS!
Yes, you read that correctly! Purchasing something that is labeled as an organizing product doesn’t mean you will get organized; it means you now have another thing in your home! Edit through your items BEFORE going out to find things to keep them organized! Throwing containers at clutter doesn’t fix the problem!

4.
SET UP A DONATION BAG
Keep an ongoing donation bag in your closet to easily toss items you find you no longer love or fit. When it fills up… drop it off to the nearest donation center!

5.
DO IT NOW
Spend less time more often! Dedicate 5, 10, 15 minutes here and there to keep things put away, clean, and tidy! The long Sunday full of chores is much more daunting and overwhelming than doing it in smaller increments throughout the week!

6.
SHOP WITH INTENTION
Clutter in your home grows every time you bring those random “impulse buys” home. Know what you need and stick to it! If you leave a store and still think about the item a week later, it will most likely still be there when you go back for it. Allowing time to think over a purchase helps you to make better, well-thought-out, buying decisions.

7.
USE DIVIDERS IN ALL YOUR DRAWERS
You wouldn’t just throw all your silverware loosely into a drawer! The same way of thinking applies to your bathroom, dresser and other kitchen drawers, too! Using drawer dividers or compartment trays or bins keeps items in the drawer in sight and easy to find.

8.
FILE FOLDING
The best way to access everything in your drawers is to be able to see everything. Fold items in a filing style so you never forget what you have - nothing lost at the bottom of the drawer again!

9.
CREATE A HOME
A place for everything, and everything in its place. If everything in your space lives in a designated spot, you will never need to hunt for it. Grab it, use it, return it! Done!

10.
KEEP ONLY WHAT YOU TRULY LOVE
If you don’t enjoy having an item in your home, then take it out of your home! The more you have, the more you have to take care of! More is more! Focus on having less to have more: free time, money, fun, happiness, sleep, imagination…
